Success or just progress?

It has become clear to me lately that even though you may hit a quota in your life and where you want to be, It only opens a window for more improvement and never really seems to fill that void of satisfaction you where expecting.

I’m almost positive the key to a happy and fulfilled life is balance… My problem is I don’t posses that skill :)

I focus too hard on one aspect and expect the others to fall into place with my success of a certain portion, Take for example I strive to be very successful in my career ( or lack thereof ) and expect my social life to Handel itself, Big mistake..

I have always dealt with everything in a very analytical sound decision way, Which you think would make sense for just about everything in life, well I have recently found out that it does not work that way, ( Business Yes, Personal life and Relationships No. ) I have found that friends and relationships do not operate in the analyitical world I know, they work on a very complex algorithm of nothing, I’m serious people operate on a emotional status and a lot of the time that does not make sense to me, I can’t comprehend how people make decisions based on emotions or personal beliefs even though they may be incorrect.

Its amazing how your aspect of goals and life can change in a short amount of time, First you have goals that seem to be almost unreachable, Once you do reach these goals, it feels amazing! Then the reality kicks back in and you ask yourself “Where do I go from here”… That is the ultimate question you will have to ask yourself at some point in your life, For me that point just happened. I’ve had my ups, I’ve had my downs, but now I have a new understanding of success and progress.

Sometimes you think your successful for a short time, only to realize you’ve only made progress and have a long way to go to achieve that ultimate goal of “Happiness”.
